Tenuta Belvedere was founded in 2013 and represents the continuation of a tradition and a passion of a winemaker born in the second half of the 19th C, when the Sarchi-Pasturenzi family began growing grapes. The vineyards cover approximately 10 hectares on the Oltrepò Pavese hillside in the municipality of Montecalvo, Versiggia, defined as, "Land of the Pinot Noir". The terroir is unique due to the healthy climate (tempered by sea currents from neighbouring Liguria), and the clay-limestone soil of marine origin which allows a natural water drainage, the cultivation of Pinot Noir is favoured representing 70% of the winery’s vineyard area. With the knowledge that the high-quality wines begins with the cultivation in the vineyards before entering the cantina, Tenuta Belvedere, thanks to its precious partnership with agronomist, Beppe Zatti, Tenuta Belvedere’s collaboration with agronomist Beppe Zatti, brings into being particularly scrupulous agronomic practices such as rigorous pruning, disbudding and selection of the grape clusters. Grape quality excellence cannot be derived without full regard and respect for nature. It is for this reason that agricultural practices with low environmental impact are followed from the very beginning, eliminating the use of chemical fertilizers, agrochemicals and herbicides, and thus promoting the vegetation of the land. Equally valuable is the collaboration with oenologist, Stefano Tower, without whom it is possible to propose, in the cellar, the same philosophy used in the vineyard: limiting the use of chemicals, including sulfur dioxide.
Although the company's name is "Tenuta Belvedere Gianluca Cabrini", it is Gianluca Cabrini himself who cultivates the vineyards, bottles the wine and is responsible for sales directly which is the reason for the winery being associated FIVI.
